The third annual Women's Leadership Academy will take place June 27-30, 2009, at The Nature Place in Florissant, Colo. Business owners, education directors, office managers, training coordinators, and others interested in learning effective leadership skills are encouraged to attend.
Hosted by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), the educational event offers three days of intense training sessions designed specifically for women on a range of topics—powerful language skills, gender-based power in business leadership styles, negotiating techniques, time management, productivity, and conflict resolution.
Instructors employ a series of team-building exercises, group projects, and hands-on activities to motivate participants. Attendees can earn continuing education units on completion of the academy and may receive industry credentials from NCCER's National Registry.
To register for the Women's Leadership Academy, visit www.nccer.org/. Tuition is $1,495, and includes hotel, all meals, course materials, and airport transportation.
